IDEA 2004: What the Changes Mean for Our Children
Sue Abderholden, Executive Director, NAMI Minnesota, provided an overview of the impact IDEA 2004 has for children and adolescents living with a mental illness and how the new regulations can be used to help them. She also discussed IEPs, obtaining a reevaluation and what special accomodations exist under IDEA.

Mary Lou Erwin, Supervisor and Parent Trainer/Advocate for the Team of Advocates for Special Kids (TASK) in San Diego, California, shared information about Parent Training and Information Centers, which help families of children and youth with disabilities. She also discussed the federal criteria and protections in IDEA.
