Seminar - The Case of Early Identification of Mental Illness and the Columbia University TeenScreen Program

The Columbia University TeenScreen® Program

Meghan Guitierrez, Deputy Director, Columbia University TeenScreen Program, presented a comprehensive overview of what is known about the underlying causes of youth suicide and the early identification of mental illness. She also provided information on the TeenScreen Program, an evidence-based mental health and suicide risk screening program.

Carrie Horne, Assistant Director, NAMI Maine shared her state's story on how the TeenScreen Program was successfully implemented in schools around the state and provided a more in-depth look on how the TeenScreen Program works in schools.
