Thank you so very much to each of you who participated in and contributed to the WALK. Your dedication to NAMI is appreciated!
Wow! We made it! As of this moment, we have PASSED our $200,000 fundraising goal! And, many of you have contacted me to say that more funds are on the way via postal mail.
What a great way to end a great WALK season! We met our goal and increased awareness about NAMI. Remember, any donations or sponsorships gained from this event will be used by NAMI in the following ways:
· To provide support to persons with serious brain disorders and to their families
· To educate families and consumers
· To advocate for nondiscriminatory and equitable policies at the federal, state, and local level and in the private sector
· To advocate for improved opportunities for housing, rehabilitation, and meaningful jobs
· To support research into the causes, systems and treatments of brain disorders
· To support public education programs designed to help eliminate the pervasive stigma surrounding severe mental illness
