The National Alliance for the Mentally Ill of Mississippi will be hosting our 8th annual NAMI WALKS for the Mind of America, Saturday, November 5, 2011 at Winner's Circle Park in Flowood, MS.

Now is the time to register online and form a team with your family, friends, place of business, school, church group, or any other type of group you can think of! You may also join an existing team. Please use the "form team" or "join team" buttons above to register and form or join a team.

NOT "just another walk!"

• One in four adults - approximately 57.7 million Americans - experience a mental health disorder in a given year.
• Racial and ethnic minorities are less likely to have access to mental health services and often receive a poorer quality of care.
• Fewer than one third of adults and half of children with a diagnosable mental disorder receive any mental health services in a given year.
• More than 90% of those who die by suicide have a diagnosable mental disorder. There are more suicides each year than there are homicides.
