Don’t Miss It Again: Discovery Channel’s Documentary on Schizophrenia

Arlington, VA - For those who missed it the first time, NAMI encourages all American families to tune in to the Discovery Channel's remarkable documentary on schizophrenia, one of the world's most misunderstood illnesses.

On March 8, 2001 at 8:00 p.m. (EST), the Discovery Channel will present "Schizophrenia: Stolen Minds, Stolen Lives," focusing on the personal cost of schizophrenia and the hope for recovery. It tells the stories of several families, including Nobel Prize winning mathematician John F. Nash, Jr. and his son, Johnny, who both have the brain disorder. It also presents the latest research on schizophrenia and profiles top scientists, such as long-time NAMI member Nancy Andreasen, M.D., Ph.D., who recently received the National Medal of Science for her research on mental illness.

The program will air again that night at 12:00 a.m. (EST). Viewers are advised to check local listings for confirmation.
