Surviving Loss: A Father’s Journey

Kevin Fischer, NAMI Michigan’s executive director, was left devastated by the loss of his son, Dominique, a young man who had been diagnosed with schizophrenia and bipolar disorder. Like many parents who face similar heartbreak, Kevin found himself overwhelmed by grief and a sense of guilt. This is the story of how, in his deepest moments of despair, Kevin found NAMI and a purpose, launching a personal mission to take on stigma and address men’s mental health.
