What do you wish more people knew about NAMI?
I wish more people knew about the Sharing Hope program, which helps underserved communities identify individuals in mental health crisis. It also eliminates stigma and informs the community about services and supports available to them.
Who inspires you?
A person who inspires me is Rosalind Brewer, COO of Starbucks and former CEO of Sam’s Club. Many years ago, Rosalind and I worked together to bring diversity services to Walmart; back then, she was only a manager. I will always remember how she encouraged me to stand in my truth, never stop learning and develop my personal brand.
