Director, External Relations
Strategic Alliances and Development
Jessica Edwards is passionate about increasing awareness about mental health and wants mental health conditions to be treated as any other medical issue. She focuses her talents on building relationships with NAMI’s corporate and foundation partners. She oversees corporate events, external relationships with our many partners and grant processes. Jessica has been with NAMI for five years.
She holds a bachelor’s in public relations from West Virginia University, and a master’s in public relations and corporate communications from Georgetown University.
What piece of your work at NAMI are you most proud of?
I am most proud of the way NAMI’s stories drive fundraising. We have a difficult job finding funding for mental health when we are up against other health organizations, but when people hear stories from NAMI members, it makes my job much easier.
What’s something about you that would surprise others?
Both of my parents are psychologists, so acceptance and openness about mental health was a big part of my childhood dinner conversations. It’s part of where my passion and interest came from.
