This will be a live Q&A event with Dr. Marlene Freeman, Professor of Psychiatry at Harvard Medical School and Associate Director of the Center for Women’s Mental Health at Massachusetts General Hospital. Dr. Freeman and Dr. Ken Duckworth will answer audience questions related to maternal mental health, including the impact of psychiatric medications throughout reproductive years and mental health considerations for individuals during pregnancy and postpartum. Marlene Freeman, M.D. is a Professor of Psychiatry at Harvard Medical School. She is the Associate Director of the Center for Women’s Mental Health at Massachusetts General Hospital and the Abra Prentice Foundation Chair in Women’s Mental Health at MGH. She is the Medical Director of the Clinical Trials Network and Institute at MGH.
She completed medical school at Northwestern University Medical School, residency at the Harvard Longwood Psychiatry Residency Program, and a research fellowship in the Biological Psychiatry Program at the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine. She previously directed Women’s Mental Health Programs at the University of Arizona College of Medicine and UT-Southwestern Medical Center at Dallas.
She is the Editor-in-Chief for The Journal of Clinical Psychiatry. She is on the Board of Directors of the American Society for Clinical Psychopharmacology (ASCP) and is also a fellow of the ASCP; she is a Fellow of the American College of Neuropsychopharmacology.
