NAMI is pleased to announce the candidate running for the Peer Leadership Council-elected seat on the 2022-2023 NAMI Board of Directors! One candidate will be elected to serve for the standard three-year board term.
PLEASE NOTE: This election is running in parallel to the general election to fill five open seats on the NAMI Board of Directors. While it has the same deadlines and key dates, only the Peer Leadership Council (PLC) will be voting to elect the candidate to fill this seat.

Candidates for the Peer Leadership Council-elected seat on the NAMI Board of Directors
The nominee is a NAMI member as well as a current member of the Peer Leadership Council. Nominations were made and seconded by fellow PLC members by the nomination deadline, which is 60 days prior to NAMI's annual meeting.
The candidate profile includes the nomination and second from the PLC members recommending the candidate for service to the NAMI Board and a summary of statements both the candidate and the nominator provided in support of their candidacy, along with a recorded speech.
2022 PLC Elections Key Dates
Below are important deadlines and key dates related to this year's PLC-elected Board seat elections process:
- April 19, 11:59 p.m. ET: Candidate nominations for PLC-elected seat are due
- Week of May 16: Voting packets emailed to voting members of the PLC
- May 19: Online voting opens
- June 15, 6:00 p.m. ET: Online voting closes
- June 18, 1:00 - 2:30 p.m. ET: NAMI Annual Meeting; elections results will be announced
Voting Information Distribution
NAMI will send voting materials to voting members of the Peer Leadership Council the week of May 16. The email will contain information on the election as well as guide PLC members to the NAMI website for details about the candidate.
If you are a voting member of the PLC and have not received your voting information by May 19, please email voting@nami.org for assistance.
Online Voting
Voting members of the PLC should refer to the email they received the week of May 16 for instructions on casting their ballot in the online voting system. Voting will open on Thursday, May 19 and will close on Wednesday, June 15 at 6:00 p.m. ET SHARP.
Election Results
Election results will be reported at the virtual NAMI Annual Meeting on Saturday, June 18. Results will also be posted on www.nami.org/voting.
