NAMI National Board Members Moe Armstrong and Mindy Greiling, Honored with National Award

Arlington, VA — NAMI National Board Members, Moe Armstrong of Connecticut and Mindy Greiling of Minnesota, will be given Eli Lilly and Company's "2004 Helping Move Lives Forward Reintegration Award," on November 11, in Indianapolis.

The awards honor individual achievements providing hope, help and support for people living with severe mental illnesses, as well as raising awareness of mental illness at the local and national level. This is the eighth year the awards have been given.

"We are extremely proud of Moe Armstrong and Mindy Greiling," says NAMI national executive director, Michael Fitzpatrick. "They have worked tirelessly and show the true spirit and essence of NAMI. It is great to see their work and efforts being recognized at such a high level."

As a state legislator, Representative Greiling has worked to eliminate barriers faced by both children and adults with mental illness in their recovery and will be honored with the Advocacy Award.

Armstrong, a decorated Vietnam veteran, an advocate, and a mental health systems consultant who has spent 20 years mentoring individuals with disabilities, will receive the Mentorship Award. This award recognizes his work as a person living with schizophrenia in providing peer-to-peer education and support.
