Pooja Mehta, M.P.H., is Second Vice President of the NAMI Board of Directors and is part of the policy team at Inseparable.

Pooja is an outspoken South Asian Mental Health and Suicide Prevention Advocate, and has been telling her story to audiences across the United States for the last 10 years. She first got involved with NAMI by co-founding Duke’s NAMI on Campus program and has stayed involved throughout the alliance ever since. As a professional with direct lived experience and a suicide loss survivor, she is eager to further the conversation around the role public health and patient perspective plays in mental health care and looks forward to changing the way we think and talk about mental health as a society. Originally from Raleigh, North Carolina, Pooja holds an MPH from Columbia, and is building a career working in health policy and advocacy in Washington, DC.
