Chief Financial Officer Finance and Administration
Over the course of his career as a CFO, David Levy has worked for both for-profit and nonprofit organizations, but it’s his work at NAMI that has brought him the greatest satisfaction. While NAMI’s mission resonates with him personally, it’s his daily interactions with NAMI’s great staff that keeps his work in accounting, financial reporting, investments and
human resources both challenging and interesting.
Prior to NAMI, David held various executive financial management positions at Fox Television, Discovery Networks International and National Public Radio. David received his undergraduate degree in broadcast journalism from Syracuse University and has both an MBA and a master’s in television management from Boston University.
Actually, I just wish more people knew about NAMI. I know that my family could have benefited from NAMI’s education programs as our children were growing up. I’m always overwhelmed with joy when I hear people talk about how much NAMI helped them and their families. We do such great work—I wish more people knew about this organization.
At one time, I wanted to be a television news anchor, but I decided it wasn’t a good career choice when I realized I didn’t like speaking in public. However, I did enjoy my stint working as a cameraperson in New York City for a television network. Either that or the fact I paid for college and grad school working as a cantor.
