NAMI HelpLine

By Grace Kettenbrink

As someone who has struggled with depression and ADHD throughout my life, creating this comic was a very special experience for me. I chose to use flowers in a garden to represent some of the most common mental health conditions (Bipolar disorder, Depression, Anxiety and Schizophrenia) to show the viewer that even someone “different” is worthwhile and has the same right to a happy life. I hope that my art can be used to spread NAMI’s message and help all people with mental illness.

Grace Kettenbrink is an Illustrator living and working in St. Louis Missouri. She received her BFA from Montserrat College of Art in Massachusetts in 2014 and she currently freelances as both an illustrator and a designer. Her work is also available for purchase online through her Etsy shop. Grace illustrates for all ages, but her simple and bold style lends itself best to children’s illustration. She believes that illustration should always be fun, and she feels most proud of her work when it makes others smile. You can see more of her work on her website, www.gracemorganart.com.
