NAMI HelpLine

Thank you for your interest in sharing your story for NAMI’s Mental Health Awareness Month campaign! Our theme this year is “In Every Story, There’s Strength.” We chose this theme to highlight the ways that sharing our mental health stories raises awareness of mental health and reduces stigma, welcoming even more people to share their stories.

  • We hope you’ll share your story however makes you feel most comfortable. Here are some prompts to help you get started:
  • What have you learned on your mental health journey?
  • What one piece of advice about mental health would you give your past self?
  • What led you to NAMI on your mental health journey?
  • Why is mental health a cause that’s close to your heart?

It’s possible that not all stories submitted by May 1 will be published during May. NAMI plans to share stories throughout 2025 to highlight how sharing our stories promotes vulnerability as strength. Additionally, NAMI reserves the right to edit submissions as needed for grammar and clarity.
