Advisor NAMI Next Gen
Ilyana Adame (she/her/hers) is located in Miami, Fla., and is currently a Ph.D. student of Cultural Anthropology at Florida International University. Her research interests are focused on Afro-Caribbean adolescents residing in the U.S. and their perceptions of mental health and psychological well-being. Her interests and hopes for her time with NAMI are that they will be able to genuinely connect to a wide and
diverse range of young adults who may not be able to talk about mental health with those around them, creating virtual safe spaces for youth and impacting their futures in positive ways.
