NAMI Ask the Expert welcomes Dr. Judith Cook who will highlight the Solutions Suite for Health and Recovery, available from the University of Illinois at Chicago, a no-cost suite of tools, curricula and implementation manuals for programs and activities designed to foster improved health, wellness and recovery. Participants will learn how these products emphasize self-direction and integration of behavioral health and health care.
After the presentation, NAMI’s Chief Medical Officer Dr. Ken Duckworth will moderate a Q&A session. This session will be recorded and posted to our website within 1–2 days of the webinar ending. A typed transcription of the audio will also be provided within 1 week of the webinar ending.
Judith A. Cook, Ph.D., is Professor of Psychiatry and Director of the Center on Mental Health Services Research and Policy at the University of Illinois at Chicago, College of Medicine. Dr. Cook is an internationally recognized authority on mental health services research, specifically the study of clinical and rehabilitation outcomes of children and adults receiving community-based care. She also designs and studies innovative programs to enhance the health and behavioral health of vulnerable populations. She works with federal, state and local authorities on behavioral health service system redesign and alternative financing strategies, including models based on mutual support and self-help, recovery and rehabilitation, and self-direction, which she has studied and consulted on in multiple U.S. states.
