NAMI Ask the Expert Webinar welcomes Lisa Horowitz Ph.D., Senior Staff Scientist at the National Institute of Mental Health; Christine Moutier M.D., Chief Medical Officer of the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention; and Tamar Haro, Senior Director of State and Federal Advocacy at the American Academy of Pediatrics.
Suicide and suicidal behavior among youth and young adults is a major public health crisis. Clinicians, adults working with youth in school and community settings, families and peers can play a critical role in identifying and supporting youth at risk for suicide. In this webinar, experts from the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP), American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP) and National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH) will present the Blueprint for Youth Suicide Prevention and outline key strategies to prevent suicide in clinics and communities.
After the presentation, NAMI will moderate a Q&A session. This session will be recorded and posted to our website in the days following the webinar. All registrants for this webinar will automatically receive a link by email to view the recorded session once it is available. A typed transcription of the audio will also be available online within one week of the webinar.
