Comprehensive mental health reform legislation will make mental health care easier to get, more accountable for achieving good outcomes and better informed by research. This week, NAMI is focusing on how mental health reform bills in Congress support research.
Can you imagine what the world would be like if people received the right treatment for their mental illness the first time?
New research is bringing us closer to getting these answers and helping us understand genetic risks for developing illnesses like schizophrenia. But more brain research is needed to build on today’s discoveries and offer the hope of better treatment in the future.
